Jane G Annis of Roswell, Georgia was born and raised in Binghampton New York. She was the third of four girls born to Henry and Florence Graham. She had a twin sister, Janice. Jane attended the State University of New York at Albany and graduated with a bachelor's and a master's degrees in education.
After graduating college, Jane began her teaching career at the Farmingdale High School in 1962. There she met her future husband, Bill. They settled in Farmingdale and raised two children. In 1976, Jane accepted a part time position as an associate professor in the business department at the State University of New York at the Farmingdale campus. This eventually became a full-time position in 1980, and later she became a full professor and chairman of the department. She remained there until 1996 when she retired.
Jane was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Women's Club of Farmingdale. After 1996, Jane and Bill retired to Jupiter Florida where they lived for 22 years. She was active in the Women's Club of Jupiter and Jupiter First Church. She relocated to Rowell Georgia in 2019 so that her husband Bill could receive treatment for Alzheimer's disease.
Jane passed away suddenly on October 1,2024. She is survived by her son William and two grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Lesley, who died in 2020, and her husband Bill, who died in 2021.
A Funeral Service will be at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Marietta, Georgia on November 18,2024 at 2pm. A private family interment at Arlington Cemetery in Sandy Springs, Georgia will be in December 2024.
