It comes with great sadness to announce that Jean M. Stercay, age 92, passed from this life on October 17, 2024, in Alpharetta, Georgia. She passed peacefully. Up until the end Jean maintained her kindness, compassion, love of family and friends and appreciation for those who cared for her. She was smiling until the end and was surrounded by her family in love.
Born in Illinois, Jean spent most of her adult years in Georgia. She was a loving and devoted wife of 69 years, a nurturing mother of eight children, a grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean enjoyed cooking, gardening with her husband, reading the Bible and time with her family and friends. Her utmost priority was always being with her family. She also worked over a decade assisting the needs of global missionaries.
Jean is survived by her children: Ronald Raymond, Sherry Ann (husband Pat Quinn), David Arthur (wife Susan), Jacqueline Maria (Kouba), Rebecca Ann (husband Steven Rapp), Daniel James (wife Rose), son-in-law Leslie White, daughter-in-law Rena Stercay, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Arthur Stercay, son Terrence Lee, and daughter Linda Jean.
A memorial service honoring Jean's life will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 4:00pm at Northside Chapel, Roswell, GA. Visitation is also open for all family and friends and will precede the service at 3:00pm. A family burial will be held on Monday, November 4th at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA where Jean will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Arthur Stercay.
