Dorothy Jean Taylor, known affectionately as Jean to her friends and family, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 79 in Braselton, GA. Jean was born on January 8, 1946 to parents Louis Delmar and Dorothy Elizabeth (Wright) Ash in Birmingham, AL.

Jean's journey through life was marked by her kind heart and generous spirit. She married the love of her life, Jerry, in 1974. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage filled with beautiful memories, love, and laughter. After attending Auburn University as an undergraduate and earning her Master's degree in Social Work from Florida State, she dedicated her career to supporting individuals with developmental delays. Her passion for her work was evident in the countless lives she touched through her many years of service. Outside of social work, Jean was an avid swimmer and loved watching birds, gardening, and quilting. When she and Jerry weren't on the tennis court, they were traveling the world with their friends, Joe and Mary.

Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Mandy Abercrombie (Matt); grandchildren, AJ and Maddie Abercrombie; and brother, Thomas Ash.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Wayne Taylor; her parents, Dorothy and Louis Ash; her brother, Louis Ash; and sister, Jane Ash.

A celebration of life for Jean will be held on April 23rd at 1 PM, at Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA.
