Obituary

Our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joann M. Cassella, peacefully passed away on September 10 at the age of 93 surrounded by her family. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.
Joann was born in 1931 to the late Earl and Matilda Huelsbeck of Menasha, Wisconsin. She graduated as a nurse from St Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She married her late husband, Lt Col Arthur C. Cassella, on November 16, 1957 and embarked on a wonderful journey as a supportive Military wife that led to travels around the world.
She loved the Braves, the Packers, and the Falcons, and had many happy memories watching them and going to the games. She was active in her ORCHARDS of Roswell community where she served on the Board and the Welcoming Committee. She was a devout Catholic and loved her church St. Peter Chanel. Joann was a great card player- especially Bridge and Rummy, and she could challenge you at a good game of Scrabble. Over the years she warmly welcomed friends into her home.
She is survived by her siblings, Dave Huelsbeck and Betty Schultz; her five daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine Lasanta (Tom), Susan Federspiel (Bruce), Debra Boyd (Harris), Mary Cochran (Darrell) and Laura Drawe; as well as her grandchildren, Sam, Sarah, Anna, Emma, Chris and Nick; and great grands, Collins and Greer.
Her memory will forever be cherished.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18th at 10:30am at St Peter Chanel Church in Roswell, Georgia. Following the service, the family will host a reception in McNamee Hall. In lieu of flowers Mom has requested donations to be made to the American Heart Association or the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Joann will be laid to rest alongside her husband at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
