John Brandes, age 52 of Woodstock Georgia passed away on Saturday September 7th in Cartersville.
John was born December 3rd 1966 to parents John D. Brandes Sr. and Patricia Brandes in Atlanta Georgia. He attended Crestwood High school. He also went to pilot school and several trade schools after that. John had several careers over the years from property manager and head of maintenance to emissions inspector.
John was in the Army when he married his first wife Ann and they were graced with the birth of their son Cade in 1995.
John later in life moved to Florida where he married his second wife Jackie. While in Florida he was the Chaplin of the American Legion in Dunedin. He felt very honored when they asked him to be Chaplin and enjoyed the role very much.
Later in life when he moved back to Georgia he joined the Cherokee County Volunteer Fire Department. He was part of their "Clown Posse" who performed for children to teach fire safety. He loved doing this for the children.
John had a great sense of humor and was always quite the jokester growing up. He loved to make people laugh and had a wonderful smile with dimples. He also really loved flying.
John was preceded in death by his father John D. Brandes Sr. He is survived with cherished memories by his mother Patricia Brandes, sister Juliana and brother in-law Joe Fisher; his son Cade and wife Amanda and their daughter Alayna.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Rd. Roswell, GA 30075. The family will receive friends following the service from 3 to 5 PM at the funeral home.
