John DuBois, 57, of Marietta, GA, left this earth on December 17 after a long and valiant battle with neuroendocrine cancer. He will be missed as a son, brother, husband, uncle, godfather, cousin, true friend and colleague. We will miss his wonderful smile and the way he could brighten up a room with his funny antics, jokes and stories.
Born in Bradenton, FL, (2nd of 5 children) to Dean and Claudia DuBois, John attended NC State University but was a lifelong UF fan. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, camping and trout fishing throughout Georgia, spending time with family at the beach, and especially saltwater fishing in his favorite locale of Key West. In addition to his hobbies, John was devoted to his work. He worked with Arrow Exterminators 27+ years in carpentry, sales and claims management.
John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Karen; his mother Claudia; siblings Claudine Lovins (Greg), DeEtte Gray (John), Danielle Southard (Jimmy) and Matthew DuBois (Tracy); nieces Elizabeth Eller, Caroline Morgan (Landry), Mary Lovins, Grace DuBois and nephew Finnegan DuBois as well as many beloved cousins.
John's wish was to be cremated and for his ashes to be spread in Key West and the North Carolina Mountains. In addition, an urn will be interned with his paternal family at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, Fl in early 2024. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 27,2024 at 11AM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors.
