Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John "Jack" Horn, Jr, who was called home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2025, at the age of 82. Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose warmth, humor, and generosity touched all who knew him.

Jack was born to the late John Howard Horn and Jean Phillips Horn on May 30, 1942 in Louisville, Ky. Jack attended the University of Alabama on an academic and swimming scholarship, earning his bachelor's degree in 1965 and his master's in operations research with the UA Industrial Engineering Department in 1966. Jack went to work for Lockheed-Georgia Company (now The Lockheed Martin Corporation) as a Senior Operations Research Analyst and then in 1966 was employed by The Coca-Cola Company, beginning a successful 31-year career until retiring in 2000. After a well-deserved retirement, Jack spent his time enjoying Lake Oconee and serving on the board of Old Salem Fire and Rescue.

Jack's family was the center of his life. He leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia Watson Horn; his children, Cynthia Horn George (Jon), Nichole Horn Hoskinson (Kevin) and Jonathan Watson Horn; his cherished grandchildren, Haven, Raleigh, Patrick, and Aidan; his sister Janice Horn Whittaker and his Great Aunt Shirley Horn. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him.

In addition to spending time with his family, Jack loved spoiling the dogs, fly fishing, cooking, reading, listening to country music, drinking good wine,
and watching Bama football. He will be remembered fondly for feeding the dogs from the table (but denying it) and making the best low country boil around. He would want us all to celebrate his life.

The family will be holding a private celebration of life this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to
Golden Retriever Rescue of Georgia or https://www.grra.com/donate
Angles Among Us , https://angelsrescue.org/donate/ ), both amazing dog rescue organizations who gave Jack his most favorite family members, Allie and Cappy.
Jack's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
