John D. Vlahiotis of Alpharetta, GA, born June 17, 1952 in Zakynthos Greece, went to be with the Lord on May 6th 2023 at the age of 70. John immigrated to the United States in 1969 with his siblings and parents. He graduated from Elberton High School and later went to Athens Technical School. He attended Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church of Marietta and sang in the choir and always volunteered for the annual Greek Festival. John was a carpenter by trade and spent 30 plus years working at Chris Krogh Custom Cabinets. He truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and traveling to Greece. He is preceded in death by his parents Dionysios & Giovana Vlahiotis, his brother Dimitri Vlahiotis, and daughter Joann Vlahiotis. John is survived by his wife Sofia Vlahiotis, son Danny Vlahiotis and wife Chelsie Vlahiotis, brother Nick Vlahiotis, sister Anthe Kefalinos and husband Dimitiri Kefalinos, Sister-in-law Theodora Vlahiotis, Sister in-law Panayiota Vlahiotis and a large extended family including Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and every other heart he touched spanning across multiple continents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 6-8, with a Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. The address for the Northside Chapel funeral home is 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 3007. Funeral services will held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. The address of the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church is 3431 Trickum Road, Marietta, GA 3006. Once the funeral is concluded, the interment will take place at 12:30 p.m. The Green Lawn Cemetery's address is 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. After being laid to rest, a Makaria (feast after the burial) and celebration of life will begin back at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church.
