Obituary

Karen Lee Miller was born in Napa California on October 9th 1946. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduating from Lincoln High School and resided in CA for most of her life. Having an entrepreneurial spirit she opened her own retail store in the early 80's. Her path led her to a fulfilling career in the wine industry while living in St. Helena. At this time, she met Jim Miller, her husband of 35 years. Because of their love of family, they moved to Atlanta, GA, where Jim's daughter, Jennifer Manisco and her family resided. Karen embraced being Jennifer's step-mother and loved spending every moment she could with her grandchildren, Lily & Noah.

Karen was an incredible chef and loved preparing meals for her family. She loved celebrating birthdays making people feel loved and brought people together with warmth, joy, and CAKE! A great cake was her favorite part of every celebration.

Guided by her deep love for animals, Karen founded a non-profit program that trained dogs to visit hospital patients and veterans, offering companionship and healing through pet therapy. She also had a huge heart for the incarcerated, which led her to dedicate 22 years of her life serving women as well as youth through Kairos prison ministry. She truly had a servants' heart, showing them compassion, spiritual support, and hope.

On January 6th surrounded by her family in her home in Alpharetta, Karen went to be with the Lord. There is no doubt that when she was face to face with her Savior, she heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"

Survived by her husband Jim Miller, step-daughter Jennifer Manisco, and grandchildren Lily and Noah Manisco.

On January 17th there will be a celebration of Karen's life at 1:00 at the Northside Chapel, Roswell, GA. Donations may be made to one of Karen's favorite charities, Life for Children at https://www.lifeforchildrenministry.org/ Or, consider donating platelets at ABS Northside Hospital in Atlanta or ABS in Marietta, GA.
