Kimberly Wilson Lauerman, sixty-one of Alpharetta, GA passed away peacefully at home on 2 March 2023. She was the daughter of the late John and Ileta Wilson of Daniels, WV.
Kim grew up as an only child and relocated often throughout West Virginia and east Tennessee as her father's career developed. She attended Tennessee High School in Bristol, TN and Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV where she was especially active in cheerleading and tennis. Upon graduation from high school Kim enrolled at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she majored in finance. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and highly active in campus life. After graduating with honors earning a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Kim began her career in Nashville, TN. Kim quickly moved into the pharmaceutical industry where she had an extraordinary career spanning 3 decades. She quickly advanced her sales career to positions of increased responsibility in sales and sales management. Kim was always looking for a challenge and worked for several organizations including AstraZeneca, Schering-Plough, Biogen, Novartis, Bayer, and most recently the exceptional AbbVie Pharmaceutical. Over the last few years Kim has been involved in advocacy with the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the COA Patient Advocacy Network.
She was an exceptionally loving mother and wife. She is survived by her husband Daniel P. Lauerman, son Wilson D. Lauerman (Atlanta, GA), son Nicholas P. Lauerman (Lockport, IL), sister-in-law Mary L. Schaefer/husband Joel (Las Vegas, NV) and brother-in-law Thomas J. Lauerman (Mountain Home, AR). Kim is also survived by a number of cousins and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to all the friends and family who have provided support during her battle over the last five years. Dr. Mary Ann Valdecanas provided an amazing same day diagnose of her condition. Dr. Bruce Gould the Medical Director of Infusion Services for Wellstar Health System and his staff did a remarkable job providing outstanding care which significantly extended Kim's time with us.
Visitation will be at 10:30 am with the service following at 11:30 am Alpharetta First United Methodist Church 69 Main Street Alpharetta, GA. A private family interment will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery Canton, GA.
