LaVonne learned how to transfuse clotting factor to her young son at home, through Chicago's Michael Reece Hospital program and then taught other new moms how to transfuse their sons at home from 1967 until 1969.
Throughout her life, LaVonne was active in golf, Bridge, Mahjong, gourmet cooking, painting, volunteering at church and with the Hemophilia Foundation.
LaVonne always believed a single happy smile could brighten up the day.
