Ned Leon Scales, Jr., age 63, of McDonough, GA passed away on February 18, 2025.
Leon lived for his daughter, Anna, his grandsons, Logan and Jayson, and his service to his communities as an EMT-I. He believed in integrity and compassion and dedicated 40 years of service to working with EMS. If you knew Leon, you knew his humor, his unprecedented patience, and his love for EMS. Leon believed that EMS chooses a person and not the opposite. His smile brought light to so many patients and coworkers and he had the ability to deescalate any situation. He was kind and compassionate to anyone he encountered and will always be known as a legend in his field.
Leon was an easy-going man who could brighten any room with his presence. He was known to belt out a tune or two, a passion that he passed down to Anna. Leon was well-known for his dark sense of humor that could lighten any situation and would joke often with his family, colleagues, and strangers.
Leon is survived by his beloved daughter, Anna Hays (Kyle); grandsons, Logan and Jayson Hays; sister, Debbie Kinane (Terry); brother, Rick Scales (Christina), and his nephews; Brian and Brandon Scales. He is loved and will be missed by countless other friends and family members.
A memorial service for Leon will be held at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors & Crematory on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
The family will be receiving friends of Leon on Saturday at noon.
