Obituary

Lisa Althea Marie Fahoome, age 72 of St. Petersburg, FL (and recently Milton, Georgia), was called to Heaven on Saturday, November 4, 2023. She was born on September 11, 1951 at Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She is the precious daughter of the late Althea Thornton Lee and the late Felix Bregni, and the third of nine children in the family; she had four sisters and four brothers.

As a young boy, Lisa's father emigrated from Volpedo, Italy with his mother and older brother. At 10 years old he finally met his own father, who had traveled to America to find work to support the family. They settled in Detroit, Michigan via Ellis Island and completed their family of 5 sons. Lisa's mother, an only child, was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Her father died when she was only three years old so she was raised by her mother and grandmother. Althea and Felix were married on August 21, 1948. They originally lived with Felix's parents on Petoskey Street, eventually bought a house on Vaughn and then moved to their iconic home on Sudbury Road in Farmington Hills. Here they raised a bustling family of nine children while Felix owned and operated several restaurants and Althea tended to her garden and managed the household. The family grew to include many grandchildren and great grandchildren, each baby described as "beautifully formed." Decades of happy memories of gourmet feasts and festive holiday celebrations with conversation, song, and laughter were created in the home as Althea and Felix regularly welcomed family and friends with open arms.

At the tender of age of 17, Lisa married the love of her life, Joe Fahoome, and they had three daughters, Michelle, Nicole and Danielle. The girls adored and emulated their mother; Michelle even referred to herself as "Little Lisa." Lisa was thrilled to be welcomed into the Fahoome family where she was known to lovingly wash and style hair and provide manicures for her beloved mother-in-law, Rose Mary, and her sisters.

Her birth name, Lisa Althea Marie Bregni, gifts her the initials LAMB. In reverence to the LAMB of God, Lisa sacrificed and cared for her children as well as her family. She extended her humble home as a sanctuary to her loved ones, a testament of her generous and nurturing heart. Lisa radiated and exemplified God's agape love. She received the Lord's favor and many blessings and miracles in her life. People often commented that she was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. Though she was gloriously striking, she was incredibly humble with a gentle spirit and refreshing innocence. She touched many with her kindness and compassion: she saw the best in others and uplifted them with her sincere compliments and praise. We are wise to follow Lisa's example to devote oneself to the Lord, as she was clearly filled with the Holy Spirt and therefore "the breath of the Almighty" (Job 33:4).

A vibrant woman of grace, Lisa was strong yet gentle, beautiful yet humble. Her presence was undeniably palpable, and many were struck by her character, integrity, tenacity and depth of love. Lisa would say her biggest accomplishment was raising three girls, but we all know that anyone she encountered was a bit mesmerized and forever transformed. Lisa will be missed immensely and loved eternally, and she is certainly still blowing us all kisses from Heaven. xo

Lisa was the beloved mother of Michelle (Bobby) Kim, Nicole (Dana) Fahoome and Danielle (Tony) Fasulo. She was the dearest sister of Lewis (Dawn) Bregni, Nori Brassfield, Phillip Bregni, Gina (Ian) Connor, Eugene Bregni, Marla (Roger) Smith, Carla (Bill) Page and Mario Bregni. She was the loving grandmother of Andrew, Luke, Nicholas, Musa and Lola. She was the cherished aunt of Damian, Teresa, Amalia, Nathaniel, Jason, Erica, Jamie, Heather, Leanne, Elliott, Courtney, Adam, Miles, Brittany, Alicia and John.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Northside Chapel in Roswell, Georgia. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for noon on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 25800 West Ten Mile Road in Southfield, Michigan. Please share memories of Lisa in her guest book.
