Lottie Belle (Reavis) Dinsmore, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in Alpharetta, GA, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 25, 1939, Lottie grew up in Alpharetta and graduated from Milton High School. She went on to build a long career at Southern Company, where she worked for 27 years until her retirement.
Lottie was the very definition of Southern hospitality, always ensuring that family, friends, and even strangers felt welcomed, cared for, and deeply loved. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Alpharetta First Baptist Church. Through every chapter of her life, she remained steadfast in her love for the Lord, her family, and her community.
She was the loving wife of James "Boom-Boom" Dinsmore, and together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Lottie cared for him with unwavering devotion, particularly during his battle with lung cancer, where she remained by his side, offering love and support until his passing in 2010. In addition to their deep love for each other, Lottie and James made it a point to attend as many grandchildren's sports games and events as possible, always offering encouragement and joy. Lottie was known for her festive spirit, always wearing the cutest Christmas sweaters during the holiday season, and her baked ham became legendary, a favorite at every family gathering.
Lottie is preceded in death by her husband, James; her grandson, Matt Haney of Roswell, GA; and other beloved family members and friends who welcomed her home with open arms. She is survived by her son, Dyron Dinsmore and wife, Peggy Dinsmore of Dunwoody, GA; her daughter, Donna Haney and husband, Dairen Haney of Canton, GA; her son, David Dinsmore and wife, Kellett Dinsmore of Hoover, AL; and her son, Darrell Dinsmore and wife, Cindy Dinsmore of Dahlonega, GA. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Jennifer Shaw and husband, Trevor Shaw of Woodstock, GA; Kelsea Dinsmore of Dunwoody, GA; Hannah Gross and husband, Nathan Gross of Cumming, GA; Kathryn Marcum and husband, Austin Marcum of Hoover, AL; Chandler Dinsmore and wife, Kaela Dinsmore of Albuquerque, NM; and Julianna Freeman and husband, Jimmy Freeman of Washington, DC. Lottie was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Mattie, Lauryn, and Amelia Shaw of Woodstock, GA; Ava Grace, Preston, Piper, and Gemma Dinsmore of Albuquerque, NM; Leta Gross of Cumming, GA; and Nelia Marcum of Hoover, AL.
Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum in Roswell, GA.
