Obituary

Marcella "Sally" Fullerton, 98, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born Marcella Poljak in a small Iowa mining town, she overcame adversity from a young age. Her father, a coal miner, succumbed to black lung disease, leaving the family to navigate the hardships of the Great Depression. Despite these challenges, Sally excelled academically, graduating high school at just 16 years old. She was a star athlete, leading her high school basketball team to a state championship in 1941. Sally had an opportunity to attend college but the family could not afford it.
Sally married Bill Fullerton, and together they built a loving family. They moved to 13 different towns across six states during their 72-year marriage, always prioritizing their children's education. Her unwavering dedication ensured that each of her children and grandchildren received a college education, many of whom obtained advanced degrees.
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, as well as her two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her children: Julie, Gary, Kevin, and Robert; six grandchildren; two granddaughters-in-law, two grandsons-in-law, and three great-grandchildren.
A rememberance ceremony will be held at 10 AM on November 8, 2024, at St. George Village in the Private Auditorium. If you wish to attend the service, please enter using the St. George Village front door. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Vincent de Paul.
