Obituary

Marcus Alan Draper passed away in September 2026 at the age of 46.

Marcus was the beloved son of the late Otha Lee Draper and Roxianna Lockhart Draper. He was a father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, and a part of a family whose story cannot be told without him.

He leaves behind his son, Marcus Alan Draper II; his brother, Gervase Draper; his sister-in-law, Joanil Draper; his nephews, Terrance J. Escontrias, Gervase Draper II, Donovan Draper, and Devin Draper; his great-nephews, Gerardo Escontrias, Jalen Escontrias, Damian Escontrias, and Christopher Escontrias; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, Otha Lee Draper and Roxianna Lockhart Draper.

For many years, Marcus and his brother Gervase shared a bond that went far beyond being brothers. From the beginning, Gervase made one thing very clear: Marcus wasn’t just his brother—he was his best friend.

When Joanil joined the family, the three of them became known affectionately as “The Three Musketeers.” It was a time filled with memories, laughter, and the kind of closeness that becomes part of a family’s history.

As the years passed, life took them in different directions, as it so often does. Yet the passage of time can never erase the memories they created, the love they shared, or the special place Marcus held within his family.

Marcus was someone’s beloved son, a father, a brother, a brother-in-law, a nephew, an uncle, and once, one-third of the Three Musketeers. Each of those relationships represents a part of his life and a memory that remains with those who knew and loved him.

His passing comes during a season of tremendous loss for the Draper family, following the deaths of his parents, Otha and Roxianna. His loss closes another chapter far sooner than anyone could have imagined.

Those who knew Marcus will remember him in their own way and through their own memories. His family will carry forward the moments that mattered, the love that existed, and the memories of the years when two brothers were best friends and three young people believed they could take on the world together.

May Marcus rest in peace, reunited with his mother and father, and may the memories of the happier days remain with those who loved him.
