The Alpharetta community sadly lost a beloved member on Thursday March 13th when Margaret Dimsdale passed away peacefully at the age of 97. Known for her grace, kindness, and steadfast faith, Margaret touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was born Margaret Louise Elkins on April 08. 1927 outside of Knoxville TN and was daughter of Reece and Thelma Elkins.
Margaret was a cosmetologist for many years and owned her own salon in Roswell. She was a lifelong member of Birmingham United Methodist Church, where she nurtured her faith and fostered strong bonds and friendships within the congregation. She was dedicated to her civic duties, volunteering at local voting polls, ensuring that her neighbors could make their voices heard. She was also a treasured neighbor welcoming anyone to stop by and say 'hello' while being greeted with a kind word, good food and heartwarming stories. Her happiness, sense of humor, generosity and compassion were the cornerstones of her long and fulfilling life.
A memorial service in celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at her cherished Birmingham United Methodist Church in Milton, GA. For those wishing to pay their respects, a viewing and reception will be available prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she impacted and the many cherished memories she leaves behind.
