Obituary

On April 12, 2024, Marilyn Mae Hawk Dwiggins, age 88, peacefully entered into eternity with Jesus Christ. Marilyn was born in Lafayette, Ohio to Zella and Russell Hawk on March 3, 1936. As a lady of gentle disposition, it was fitting that she should become a pastor's wife, ensuring a life of encouraging, caring for and ministering to others. She met her husband Dr. James Dale Dwiggins, on a blind date while visiting a friend in Arizona, and together, they faithfully served God for more than 60 years. Marilyn had an eye for details and the patience to do things with excellence, which made her an exceptional cook, baker and homemaker. She transformed the simple into extraordinary, making the smallest details into something lovely–a trait demonstrated in her home and in the many lives she touched. She used each of these skills to make both her home and her life a safe haven for all who entered. While her beloved Jim aptly demonstrated God's power and authority from the pulpit, Marilyn's consistent grace, gentleness, patience and kindness shared the love of God–it was this balance that made them so beloved.

Her family was her pride and joy, and she found great delight in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family found love, peace, and happiness by being in her presence because she made everyone around her feel special.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and their son James Brett Dwiggins, who died in infancy. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Strickland (Kyle) and Lisa Ingle (Jason). She is also survived by beloved grandchildren Taylor (Allison) Strickland and Kasey Strickland, and Andrew Ingle, Timothy Ingle, Emma Ingle and Elizabeth Ingle; and two great-grandchildren, Eason and Sutton Strickland.

While her family celebrates Marilyn's complete restoration as she enjoys the splendor of Heaven, they request that, in lieu of flowers, gifts be made in her memory to Woodlands Camp
