Martha
Dorman
Jan 29, 1944 — Oct 15, 2026
Roswell, GA
Martha H. Dorman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
Martha was born on January 29, 1944, in Lexington, Kentucky to Julien and Margaret. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Peyton Harrison.
Martha met the love of her life, Larry, while attending East Carolina University. They married in Raleigh in 1969 and began their life together, living in Miami and Orlando before eventually making their home in Roswell, Georgia.
Early in her career, Martha worked as an administrative assistant at the Stackpole Components Company. Later, she devoted herself to her family as a homemaker, creating a loving and welcoming home for those she cherished.
Martha’s faith was an important part of her life. She was an active member of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church before later joining Roswell Presbyterian Church. She faithfully served others in many ways, including volunteering with a homeless shelter and serving as a Stephen Minister. Martha was also an active member of the Searchers Class, where she formed some of her dearest and most lasting friendships. She also began a social activities program for “empty nester” age friends at RPC.
Martha will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, generosity, steadfast faith, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She touched countless lives through her service to others and the genuine friendships she cultivated throughout her life.
Extensive travel in and outside the U.S.A. with Larry was a favorite pastime. Martha also enjoyed walking, horseback riding and working out with her friends from the gym. She was proud of being able to complete the Peachtree Road Race.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry; her son, Bryan R., and daughter-in-law, Maya; her grandson, Bryan H. Dorman; her daughter, Shelby, and son-in-law, Kurt; and her grandsons, Parker and Caleb Martin. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church community, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Martha leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, service, and friendship that will continue through the lives of those she loved.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family requests donations be made in Martha's name to the Alzheimer's Association .
