Maye Lyon Eaton
86, Alpharetta, GA
Maye Lyon Eaton, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and lifelong educator, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. She was born on January 17, 1939 and lived a life filled with faith, family, and a passion for learning.
On July 23, 1960, she married the love of her life, Jack Eaton, at the First Baptist Church of Ball Ground, Georgia. A graduate of Tift College, Maye dedicated her life to teaching, shaping the minds of young children as an elementary and preschool educator. She took great pride in the impact she made on her students, instilling in them a love for learning that lasted a lifetime.
Beyond the classroom, Maye had a deep love for music and found great joy in playing the baby grand piano. Whether through teaching or music, she shared warmth, wisdom, and kindness with everyone around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Eaton; her children, Jack and (Charlotte) Eaton, Todd Eaton and (Mario Castro), and Merrie and (Todd) Greenfield; her grandchildren, Joshua and (Bethany) Eaton, Robert Eaton and (Caroline Spurlin), Christopher and (Haiden) Eaton, Nicholas Greenfield, Zachary Greenfield, Elijah Greenfield, and Amelia Greenfield; and her great-grandchildren, Wesley, Drake, and Aubrey Eaton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Northside Chapel in Roswell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in her memory.
Maye's legacy of love, education, and music will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
