Obituary

Michael E. DelGais, Jr., "Mike", age 53, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mike's life journey was characterized by love, faith, an adventurous spirit, and a profound commitment to his family.

Mike attended the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, where he obtained degrees in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. While attending college, he met his wife, Carol. Several years after, Mike and Carol moved to Woodstock, Georgia, where they were blessed with two wonderful sons, Anthony and Michael Vance.

Mike was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support were felt by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his warm smile, intellectual conversations, his candor, and his passion for life. Mike was very patriotic, with a deep love for the Constitution, this country, and his heritage.

Mike had a variety of hobbies that brought joy to his life and those around him. He was always ready for a game of poker or chess, loved to go fishing, enjoyed watching sports, and was a scout leader for many years. His skills in woodworking were admired by many and he could fix just about anything. Mike also had a talent for cooking, hosting delicious meals with family and friends, often including items from his own garden.

Throughout his engineering career Mike was an innovative problem-solver, a patent inventor, and a dependable resource. Through his hard work and determination, Mike eventually fulfilled his dream of starting his own successful business in the air quality industry.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-five years, Carol, and their two sons, Anthony and Michael Vance of Woodstock, Georgia; his parents, Michael Sr. and Elaine DelGais of Bridgeport, Connecticut; his siblings, Gennaro DelGais and Christopher DelGais (Krista), also of Bridgeport Connecticut; his nephews, Marvin Cunningham, Gavin Cunningham, Matthew DelGais; and niece, Lilliana DelGais. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral mass celebrating Mike's life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, GA with a luncheon reception to follow.
