Mr. Michael Kinsey, age 63, of Woodstock, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Mike was born on November 18, 1959, in Richmond, Indiana to Bob and Mary Lou Kinsey. He later moved to Kettering, Ohio and graduated from Fairmont East High school in 1978.
He attended Nyack University for 2 years and then transferred to Asbury University in 1980, where he met his wife, Cecille. After graduating in 1983, Mike later found his way down to Atlanta, Georgia and began his career in Christian Education at the Heiskell School. He and Cecille were married in 1984.
In 1985, he began working at Eastside Christian School in Marietta, Ga, where he would teach Middle School Bible, P.E., and coach basketball for 20 years. In 2006, he and Cecille both began working at Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia. Mike continued to coach basketball and golf and teach Bible but moved to working with high schoolers. Needless to say, teaching young people about Jesus Christ was his passion.
Outside of his teaching role, Mike was an Eagle Scout, avid golfer, die-hard Duke Basketball and Georgia Football fan, beach lover and most importantly – a devoted son, caring brother, loving husband, wonderful father, and the most fun Papa to his six grandchildren.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou. He is survived by his father, Bob Kinsey; his sisters, Susan (David) Patrick and Karen (Brian) Lincoln; wife, Cecille Kinsey; three children, Trent (Katie) Kinsey, Sarah (Peter) Sivilay and Katie Kinsey; six grandchildren, Simon Sivilay, Valerie Sivilay, Elliot SIvilay, Gemma Sivilay, Rory Kinsey and Eleanor Kinsey.
