Jeremy Ryan Labonte
August 17, 2000 – February 7, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeremy Ryan Labonte, age 24, of Acworth, Georgia. Jeremy passed away on the evening of February 7, 2025, while serving his community as a dedicated patrol officer with the Roswell Police Department. His life was tragically cut short in the line of duty, but his legacy of compassion, service, and love will live on.
Born on August 17, 2000, in Austell, Georgia, Jeremy was the beloved son of Roger and Brandi Labonte and the protective brother to his sisters, Morgan Labonte and Ashleigh Downing (Ben). He was also a proud uncle to his nephews, Grayson Labonte and soon to arrive Levi Downing. Jeremy's greatest love was his wife, Alyssa Labonte. Their love story began when they were just 11 years old, and for the next 13 years, Jeremy devoted his life to protecting and cherishing her. He was also loved by his grandparents, Tracy and Jeff Wheeler, and great grandfather, Lanier Englett. Alyssa has the support of her family who also loved Jeremy very much, including Ben Porter (father), Joey and Megan Bovona (stepfather and mother) and her sisters and brother, Cianna, Bella, Grace, and JoJo (Geneva) Bovona. Alyssa's paternal grandparents, Sherrie Walker and Richard Porter and her maternal grandparents, Keo and Noulith Saechang.
Jeremy was a compassionate, hardworking, and protective soul who found purpose in serving others. He graduated with honors from King's Way Christian School in Douglasville, Georgia, where he excelled both academically and athletically. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University and began his law enforcement career in 2021 with the Roswell Police Department.
Jeremy was a role model to his friends and teammates. He was known for his dedication to service and his commitment to protecting the residents of Roswell. When Jeremy was not on duty, he and Alyssa embraced life, enjoying family vacations, going on walks with their dog (Dood), and attending church services. They were avid foodies. Jeremy also enjoyed working out to stay physically and mentally strong for the challenges of his job.
Jeremy's courage, loyalty, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was not just a protector of his family and friends, but of his entire community. His memory will be carried on through the lives he touched and the example he set for future generations.
