Patsy Jane Gesler, known as "PJ" to her family and friends, of Milton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June the 29th, 2023. She was 78 years old. She was born January 18, 1945, in Russellville, Alabama to Arlin Walston Fuller and Myrl "Rose" Fuller. She was a graduate of Russellville High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Athens State College in 1976. She worked for the Morgan County School System, Alabama for nearly 20 years mostly as a fifth and sixth grade math and social studies teacher, and then upon moving to Brookfield, Connecticut in 1994, she worked as a substitute teacher and then worked in jewelry sales for Kay's Jewelry. Upon her husband's job promotions, she has then moved to Long Grove, Illinois and then to Milton, Georgia. She was a lifelong adult member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was a cherished wife, devoted teacher, and passionate adventurer. She embraced life with an infectious spirit, filling each day with love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for exploration.

PJ graced the world with her radiant presence. From a young age, she possessed an insatiable curiosity and a deep desire to connect with others. She embarked on countless adventures, traversing remote corners of the globe, immersing herself in different cultures, and forging lifelong friendships along the way.

As an ardent lover of adventure travel, PJ fearlessly explored the world, venturing into uncharted territories that mirrored the boundless depths of her own soul. She reveled in the thrill of new experiences and the beauty of the natural world. Among her most treasured destinations was Africa on 5 different journeys, where the untamed beauty of the wilderness stirred her soul and ignited a sense of awe and wonder that stayed with her throughout her life. Her travel tales were the stuff of legends, captivating all who listened with her vivid descriptions and contagious enthusiasm.

While PJ had an adventurous spirit, her heart also led her to the classroom. She dedicated herself to education, devoting her time and energy to shaping young minds and inspiring future generations. As a teacher, she was adored by her students for her unwavering support, her ability to make learning fun, and her genuine interest in their dreams and aspirations. She believed in the power of knowledge and instilled a lifelong love of learning in those fortunate enough to pass through her classroom.

PJ will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her genuine warmth, and her ability to touch the lives of everyone she encountered. Her infectious laughter and compassionate nature brought comfort and joy to those around her, creating a tapestry of cherished memories that will forever live on in our hearts.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and adventure, reminding us to embrace life fully and fearlessly. As we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary woman, let us find solace in the knowledge that her spirit continues to guide us, urging us to pursue our passions and seize every opportunity for connection and exploration, just as she did.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arlin Walston Fuller and Myrl "Rose" Fuller, and her sons, Phillip Gregory Woodruff and Anthony (Tony) Craig Woodruff. She is survived by her husband Glen George Gesler, son Wallace "Wally" (Michelle Hancock) Woodruff, grandson Wallace "Trey" Woodruff lll, granddaughter Abigail Leigh Woodruff, sister Margarett "Maggie" (Robert Graham) Emmons, brothers Tommy (Sally) Fuller and Jimmy (Elaine) Fuller and many loving nieces and nephews.
