Pauline Lenore (Fairchild) Balsamo, 83 of Roswell, Ga passed away on April 7, 2023 at 1:39 AM holding the hands of her two loving daughters.

Polly was born on September 13, 1939 in Paradise Michigan and left home at 18 for Kansas City to pursue a career with Eastern Airlines. She then moved to Atlanta and later to New York City where she met her husband, Anthony Balsamo. They had two girls and settled in Succasunna, New Jersey where she was a devoted and loving mother and wife and a stay at home mom until the girls were teens. The family then moved to Alpharetta, Georgia in 1989 and resided on Peace Creek Trace for 20 years. At the age of 80 Polly bought her first house by herself in Roswell where she resided until living at her daughters the last few months of her life. She was one of the sweetest, kindest and patient souls. She endured many medical challenges and always stayed calm and did not worry. She tried hard to instill that in her daughters. Polly had an enormous amount of love for animals and children. While living in Milton, she spent many years volunteering at Catnip Cottage with abandoned and feral cats helping them find forever homes. Animals and children alike always felt at ease with her beautiful and kind spirit. She also loved gardening and could nurture plants back from the brink, again because of her gentle soul. Her other passion was cooking and her family. All that knew Polly, knew they would be greeted with what would you like to eat as they walked in the door. She also loved giving food to neighbors and friends as a way to spread kindness.


She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Balsamo. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Balsamo of Atlanta and Stephanie Doyle (Robert) of Roswell; grandchildren, Alex Balsamo of Atlanta, Samantha, Sophia, Ava and Josephine Doyle of Roswell; Stephanie's mother-in-law, Melanie Doyle.

In lieu of flowers, Polly would like donations made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10:30AM at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6PM until 8PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Thank you for the endless outpouring of prayers and love sent to our mom. I can't tell you how many people over the last few months even while she was fighting to live said your mom always had a smile when we walked in the house whether it was New Jersey or here. She really was an angel and we were so blessed to be her daughters
