Obituary

Pauline "Peg" Eleanor Kephart was born on February 21, 1928 in Belmond, Iowa to John and Henrietta Greenlander. She passed away on February 22, 2024 in Roswell, GA. near her family. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and her son, Kim.
She graduated from Belmond High School where she played the trumpet in the marching band. She attended Iowa Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa) where she met Kenneth. Pauline taught Kindergarten in Greene and Maquoketa Iowa.
After marrying Kenneth in 1948, they moved to Des Moines where she lived for 69 years. Pauline and Kenneth were married for 52 years.
Pauline was recognized for her 34 plus years of dedicated service to the Iowa House of Representatives as an Engrossing and Enrolling Processor. She established and was famous for "Peg's Pantry,"! A mainstay of the Iowa House for many years.
She moved to Roswell in 2019 to be with her family. Pauline is survived by her daughter Debra (Mike) Ewing of Roswell, GA, 2 grandsons, Jason Ewing of Atlanta, GA, John (Jody) Ewing of Roswell, GA, and their granddaughters, Nora, Keppy and Mallie of Roswell, GA.
Her love of shopping and "returns" will bring a smile to all who knew her. Pauline will be remembered for her kindness, wit and loving ways.
A celebration of life service will be held on July 12, 2024 at 7610 Wistful Vista Dr. #16, West Des Moines. Visitation at 10:30 and celebration from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Along with her family and friends, Peg loved St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, if donations are wished.
