We are sad to announce the passing of Peggy Ann Goldsmith, age 74. Peggy passed away at home in Holly Springs, GA on January 19, 2024 with her husband Lloyd at her side.
Peggy was born and raised in Savannah, GA as the middle child and only daughter of Ralph Smoak and Carrie Smoak. She earned her bachelor's degree at Armstrong State University. She then taught for several years at Richmond Hill High School in Richmond, GA and Savannah High School in Savannah, GA. Peggy and Lloyd got married in 1976. As a Major in the Army, Lloyd was stationed around the country and the world. Peggy and Lloyd raised their family while moving every few years. This allowed them to experience many adventures and cultures. Peggy was proud of her children earning college degrees and was incredibly thankful that they were not saddled with student loans and debt.
Peggy is survived by her husband Lloyd, her daughters Marla (Michael) Gilreath and Elizabeth Goldsmith, her son L.E. Goldsmith, her grandsons James and Daniel Gilreath. She also had many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Peggy cared greatly for her family and friends.
