Obituary

Ms. Priscilla Ann LaMotte, age 80, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023. Priscilla was born on November 2, 1942, in Jesup, Georgia, to her late mother and father, Ethelyn and Alonzo DeCosta.

Priscilla moved to Atlanta as a young adult, and worked as an x-ray technologist at Grady Memorial Hospital. Priscilla and Edward then moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where they were blessed with the adoption of their one daughter, Angela Charlene LaMotte.

Priscilla was an avid reader of biographies, and Ken Follett novels and a lover of nature. She would sit on her porch and enjoy watching the leaves change color during the fall and observe the birds that frequented her patio. Priscilla was also a dog lover and always had a soft spot for them.

Priscilla was known for her compassion towards others. Following in her strong faith, she was always willing to help someone in need. Her ability to show compassion and so much love to even strangers, is something that will be cherished by all who knew her, from now and forever.

Along with her parents, Priscilla is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Middleton LaMotte and brother-in-law, Dr. Louis Cossitte LaMotte, Jr and sister-in-law, Lila Jean LaMotte. She is survived by her one daughter, Angela Charlene LaMotte of Dayton, Tennessee, her sister and brother-in-law, Cecelia and William Barnes of Murietta, California and their two daughters Cathy Barnes of Murietta, California and Jennifer Barnes of Fall River, Wisconsin, Brother and Sister-in-Law, John and Olivia LaMotte of Swannanoa, North Carolina, and amongst many nieces and nephews.
