Richard Raymond Poshva age 84, of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. He was born and raised in Rochester, New York. Richard ("Dick") was a proud member of The Parish of the Holy Family (Rochester, NY) and most recently, St. Thomas Aquinas (Alpharetta, GA.), living out his faith daily, with kindness, generosity, a thankful heart and "God Bless You" to anyone lending a helping hand.
Richard was a 1958 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. He proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Navy for four years as an Aviation Electrician's Mate, traveling all over the world. Following his time in the Navy, Richard worked for over 30 years as a Sheet Metal Fabricator at the Eastman Kodak Company. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed his retirement years spending time with his grandchildren. Fishing was his favorite pastime.
He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Ruth Poshva, and his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Reinhold Spath.
Richard's greatest accomplishment in life was his family. They meant the world to him. He was married to and survived by his loving wife of over 56 years, Eileen Poshva, his two daughters, Colleen (Keith) Doles and Ellen (Christopher) Oneacre, his six grandchildren, Molly, Ryan, Hannah and Erin Doles and Connor and Carson Oneacre, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends may call on November 18th from 4-7pm at Leo Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Avenue, Rochester, NY.
On Tuesday, November 19th, all are invited to attend his funeral Mass at 11am at The Parish of The Holy Family Church (St. Jude's site), 4100 Lyell Road, Rochester, NY. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery.
