After a happy life of 94 years Mrs. Rita Anne Gentry Rucker passed to her heavenly home in the early hours of Tuesday May 20th with family present and in the comfort of her own home.
Rita was born in Roswell Ga on March 8th1931. After living and growing up in her hometown, she married the love of her life Byron Rucker on Christmas Day 1948. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage and two daughters.
She was a longtime member of Roswell First Baptist Church, attended Roswell Elementary and graduated from Milton High School.
Rita was a gifted gardener, interior decorator and artist. In her golden years she mastered the arts of journaling and scrapbooking. Her love language was gifts, cards, and quality time with others.
Her greatest joy was her family, friends and her home. With warm hospitality she entertained on every holiday and many special occasions.
Preceded in death by her parents Obie and Nellie Gentry, brother Gene Gentry and beloved husband Byron Rucker. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Debbie Rucker, Kathy and Phillip Clark; and 3 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
The CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held on Saturday, May 31st at Northside Chapel 12050 Crabapple Rd. Roswell, Georgia. Visitation is at 11:00 am and service will begin at 12:00 noon. A private interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
