Robert Henson went home to be with Jesus on April 24th, 2023. He was a devoted and dedicated husband. father, son, brother, friend, boss, golf partner, and mentor. Robert was selfless. he was kind, gentle, generous, and encouraging. He had wit and was very intelligent. He would always outspell you, which made a Scrabble game impossible to win. He was quick to love and quick to forgive. He brought the fun always and had an infectious laugh.
He was passionate about his faith, his family, his business, golf, the Georgia Bulldogs, cooking, gardening, his dogs, the Braves, and going to Costco. He was the first to lend a hand (to help or to dance the pretzel), an ear, a piece of thoughtful advice, a big bear hug, a "hey buddy" or a "hey darlin," a prank that brought him to tears, and a stiff boat drink.
He loved deeply, and he was so deeply loved. He was a true light in any room he walked into and he was a tremendous blessing to anyone he ever met. Volumes could be written about all of Robert's attributes. There is a huge hole missing in this physical world, but heaven is rejoicing.
We pray that Robert's legacy will be that we are all reminded that today is a gift from God and to savor each moment and make it precious. To fix our eyes on Jesus. never take anything or anyone for granted, stay focused on the good in everyone and everything and count our blessings each and every day.
Robert is survived by his wife Joy, daughter Delaney and her fiancé Tyler Rider. Also by his mother, Elizabeth Libby Henson, siblings Joni Argo (Keith), Bradley Henson (Andra), and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He is preceded in death by his father John Robert Henson.
In lieu of flowers. the family asks that donations be made to First Tee or Paws4People both of which support two of Robert's loves- golf and dogs.
