Robert E. (Gene) Loner, age 87, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at Heritage Hospice on June 22, 2025.
He was born on December 5th, 1937 in Roswell, Georgia and attended Newtown School. He spent his life as a carpenter and could fix anything. Even after retiring as a carpenter supervisor with the City of Atlanta, he continued to do carpentry jobs.
He loved his family and going to church where he was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Loner, his mother Odessa Loner and his brother Herschel Loner.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara Pendley Loner; 3 children Jeannie (Rick) Simmons, Donny (Loretta) Loner and Sandra (Dave) Smith; 7 grandchildren Bryan Holmes, Brandi (Matt) Lein, Heather Loner, Ashley Smith, Jonathan (Mallory) Loner, Nathan (Paige) Smith and Katey Smith and siblings Pat (Jack) Herren and Reverand Ronnie (Barbara) Loner and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Northside Chapel Funeral Home in Roswell Ga on Wednesday, June 25th from 5-8 pm.
A memorial service will be held at the funeral chapel on Thursday, June 26th at 11 am with a interment service following at Green Lawn Cemetery.
