Rose Marie Mazur of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Surrounded by love in the weeks leading up to her passing, Rose had her daughter by her side as the Lord called her home at the age of 89.

The daughter of the late Margaret and Angelo Giambra, Rose was born on October 2, 1936, in Buffalo, New York.

Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard "Len" Mazur, with whom she shared many years of love, devotion, and partnership.

After graduating from high school, Rose began a career in retail, but her greatest devotion was always to her husband and family. That love was evident throughout her life, especially when she and Len, longtime residents of Lackawanna, New York, relocated to Alpharetta, Georgia, in 2003 to be closer to family. Road trips turned into adventures when visiting family throughout the country, and she enjoyed trying her luck at a casino along the way, where no slot machine was ever unfamiliar territory,

Rose was loved by everyone who knew her. She was strong-willed, determined, and never afraid to speak her mind. She loved deeply, cared fiercely, and had a remarkable way of leaving a lasting impression on those she met.

Rose is survived by her children, Lynn Cowart and Leonard Mazur, Jr. (Mary Jo); her grandchildren, Shelbie (Marcus) Bauer, Emilio (Ali) Mazur, Justin Cowart, and Anthony (Kelly) Mazur; her great-grandchildren, Jameson Bauer, Caroline Bauer, Sloane Bauer, Margot Bauer, Trent Mazur, and Ava Mazur; and her sister, Pat (Paul) Romani.

A Mass celebrating Rose's life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Duluth, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Rose Mazur.

Rose's strength, love, loyalty, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
