Ruth Clare Fagan, 95, died peacefully, with family by her side at her home in Historic Roswell Place in Roswell, GA, on December 29, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was predeceased by Larry, her loving husband of 61 years.
Ruth was a wonderful wife, great mom, loving grandmother & great-grandmother and an adventurer who lived life to the fullest. She was known for her quick wit and sharp mind. She loved settling in with a good book, completing challenging crossword puzzles, and engaging in thoughtful—often spirited—debate. Ruth delighted in lively conversation, always sharing her point of view with humor and intelligence. After graduating from Carnegie Tech in 1952 (now Carnegie Mellon University), she and a friend drove to California, where she lived adventuresomely for over a year. She later returned to Pittsburgh, and met the love of her life, Larry. Together they raised five children, first in Pittsburgh and then in Pittsford, New York, where they lived for more than thirty years. Ruth was committed to her family and cherished their time together, including many wonderful vacations at the Jersey shore and Emerald Isle, NC.
Ruth and Larry founded Tech Business Systems in 1986, sold it in 1999 and retired to New Bern, NC where they lived for eighteen years. Ruth's Catholic faith was important to her; she and Larry were active parishioners of St. Paul Church and participated in various charitable activities, including RCS Food Kitchen, Merci Clinic, hospital visitation services and Meals on Wheels. In October 2023, Ruth relocated to Roswell, GA to be near one of her children.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Amy (Charlie) Thibault of Wellington, FL; sons Marty (Debbie) of Roswell, GA, Pat (Avril) of Montclair, NJ, and Luke (Christine) of Syracuse, NY. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren - Matt Fagan, Dan (Laura) Fagan, Sara (Cory) Pritchard, Kevin (Laura) Fagan, Tim (Megan) Thibault, Katherine (Jeremiah) Deep, Nick Thibault, Mark (Cassandra Watson) Fagan, Liam Fagan, Claire (Jacob) Lindberg, and Maddy Thibault, as well as seven great-grandchildren – Lily, Zoey, Hadley, Alaia, Alice, Jamie & Jonah.
