Sandra Sirles Sweatt, born May 27th, 1949, of Roswell, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 surrounded by the abundant love of her family and friends. Sandra was a dedicated mother, sister, grandmother, and the matriarch of her close knit family. For 32 years, Sandra flew the skies with Delta Airlines as a flight attendant, and as a fervent traveler she loved getting to experience global cultures and sharing her curiosity and love of travel. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Sirles Jr. of Birmingham, AL. Sandra was the beautiful mother of, and is survived by, two children; Amanda Goodwin Whiteside (Micah) of Roswell, GA and Robert William Sweatt III (Nicole) of NC. She is also survived by her three sisters (Barbara Sirles, Terry Sirles, and Cathy Sirles Fox of Birmingham, AL); her two grandchildren, Whittington and Hayden; two nephews (John Fox of Atlanta, GA and Connor Fox of New York, NY) and niece (Emily of MA); and countless friends whom she deeply adored. Sandra was an active member of Roswell Woman's Club, Delta Clipped Wings and various book clubs and Bible studies in her community. She was also a passionate and creative entrepreneur, tirelessly spending her retirement years running two, successful, small businesses, selling at markets and shows all over the Southeast. If asked, Sandra would have said her greatest joy was becoming a "Tissy" and cheering her grandchildren on in every endeavor big or small. Sandra found meaning in the happiness of others and family. She loved to entertain, making the smallest occasions seem effortlessly special for all those who were lucky enough to cross her path. Sandra was a pillar of grace and eloquence and gained peace and support through family. She was the epitome of a Southern belle.
A celebration of life will be held at Roswell United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 25th at 2:00 p.m. The family asks that family and friends wear vibrant colors to celebrate Sandra's zest for life. Her family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of love they have received. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to UAB O' Neal Center for Breast Cancer Research Center.
