Scott McKenzie, age 61, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023.
Scott grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Terry Parker High School, where he excelled at football and developed lifelong friendships. After high school, his passion for Florida State led him to Tallahassee, Florida where he met the love of his life, Lynn.
They then moved to Atlanta, Georgia shortly after and were married in 1989. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Keeley (29) and Garett (26). Lynn, Keeley and Garett were Scott's whole world and his pride and joy. The 4 of them enjoyed many special memories and adventures together.
Scott enjoyed the simple things in life and cherished any time spent with his family and friends. Especially on the water, whether at his happy place at Lake Lanier or in Rosemary Beach. He had a love for fishing and boating and shared many special memories with friends and family throughout the years.
He had a successful 30 year career in the Software industry and loved what he did but more importantly loved the people he worked with. He was a leader, mentor and friend to all and had a genuine interest in the lives of his colleagues.
Scott had a knack for connecting with others and had a heart of gold. To know him was to love him and he truly never met a stranger. More than anything, he enjoyed making everyone around him laugh and brought a smile to every face he encountered. His influence and humor will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 27th at 1:30pm at First Baptist Church Alpharetta, 44 Academy Street, Alpharetta, GA 30009.
