Sharon Catherine O'Neill of Savannah, Georgia passed away in her home after a short illness on Thursday morning, January 30, 2025.
Sharon was a member of St. James Catholic Parish in Savannah since 1973 where her children also attended school. Sharon was a devout Catholic who shepherded her four children into the faith. In her retirement, Sharon used her beautiful voice each week in the choir and prioritized her life around attending mass.
Sharon was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed attending Braves games and cheering on and filming as many baseball games of her grandsons as she could.
Sharon was raised in Waterville, Maine where she attended Mount Mercy Academy.
Sharon is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles and Alida O'Neill, brother Charles O'Neill, sister Patricia Kick, and oldest granddaughter Amanda Brooke Herrera.
Sharon is survived by her four children; Ceylon Lorenzo Barclay II of Buenos Aires, Argentina; Craig Stephen Eaton Barclay and his wife, Ashley Bendig Barclay of Roswell, Georgia; Lisa Barclay Argo of Missoula, Montana; and Andrew Charles Browning of Costa Rica.
Sharon is survived by thirteen grandchildren: Brittany Alise Almeroth of Tucson, Arizona; Jacob Alexander Barclay of Warner Robbins, Georgia; Kaylee Elizabeth Barclay of Warner Robbins, Georgia; Payton Ramsay Browning of North Carolina; Alexandra Barclay of Atlanta, Georgia; Austin Charles Browning of North Carolina; Elijah Dale Barclay of Fort Eustis, Virginia; Matthew Cole Barclay of Greensboro, South Carolina; Nicholas David Barclay of Atlanta, Georgia; John Eaton "Jack" Barclay of Roswell, Georgia; Chatham Reid Barclay of Roswell, Georgia; Liliana Melanie Barclay of Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Amato Browning of Costa Rica. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Peggy Hussey.
A memorial service and Mass of the Resurrection will be held for Sharon at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, Roswell, Georgia on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 2:30 PM.
A private family interment will be held in Keene, New Hampshire this Spring.
