Sidney Ruse Moss, born March 13, 1938, in Dunwoody, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024. He was 86 years old.
Sidney was the beloved eldest of seven children born to Charles and Ethel Moss. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and later enjoyed a fulfilling career at Home Depot before retiring. His passions included gardening, bird watching, and supporting his favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.
In recent years, Sidney found great joy in the company of his fellow residents at Manor Lake, where he forged cherished friendships and continued to engage in the activities he loved.
He is survived by his siblings, Nita Castleberry, Jo Ward and Jimmy Moss; his children, Lisa Godfrey, Tara Moss, and Terry Moss; six grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carolyn, and his siblings Jane, Paul, and Erma.
He will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. Visitation will be held on July 28, 2024, from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Home 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell Ga. Grave Service to follow 1:00 pm at Green Lawn Cemetery, 10993 Alpharetta Hwy, Roswell Ga. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Salvation Army of Gwinnett County, 3455 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville Ga. 30044.
Sidney's legacy of love, service, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
