Mrs. Silvie Ann Kimbrell, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Silvie was born on January 16, 1942, in Fulton County, the daughter of the late Harley Cleveland Long and Averil Silvie Cope.
Silvie was an active member of Grace Baptist Church. Her unwavering faith was a testament to her character. She lived her life with grace and kindness that touched the lives of all those around her. She married the love of her life, Marvin Jerry Kimbrell. The marriage was blessed with four children: Marvin Steve Kimbrell, Phillip Carl Kimbrell, Wendy Ruth Kimbrell, and Dawn Marie Lord.
Silvie had a deep and abiding love for her family and friends, and she always made time to offer a helping hand. Silvie and Marvin loved each other and enjoyed sharing precious moments and adventures together along with their extended family. Silvie loved to read and sing in church serving the Lord. She enjoyed gardening and outdoor nature and she loved sitting in her swing watching the grandbabies play.
Along with her parents, Silvie is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and her siblings: Homer Long, Willie Long, James Long, Frank Long, Mae Brooks, Ruth Brannon, Gladys Weaver, Betty Treadaway, Hugh Long, and Buddy Long. She is survived by her two loving children: son, Phillip Kimbrell (Lynn), daughter, Dawn Lord (Michael); 4 grandchildren: Sandy Grindle (Neil), Britney Vickers (Hamilton), Gerald Wright (Taylor), and Wade Kimbrell (Brittany), 9 great-grandchildren: Bryson and Ansley Grindle, Raelynn, Tripp, and Leighton Vickers, Hudson, Gracie, and Owen Wright, and Caroline Kimbrell and many friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
The visitation for Silvie Kimbrell will take place between 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, and Friday, November 3, 2023, between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Northside Chapel at 12050 Crabapple Rd. Roswell, Georgia. The funeral service to honor the life of Silvie Kimbrell will be at one o'clock in the afternoon following the visitation. She will be laid to rest at Green Lawn Cemetery.
