Suzanne Peavy Holly Walbert, known and loved by many as "Suzie Holly," passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born in Miami, Florida, to Sarah Lu "Sally" Barnes and Jack Peavy, Suzanne lived a life marked by creativity, curiosity, and friendship.
Suzanne graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1961 before entering Florida State University as a member of the Class of 1965, where she joined Kappa Alpha Theta. Many of the relationships she formed during that time endured throughout her life, and she remained close to people she had known since childhood.
Suzanne embraced many roles, including homemaker, teacher, and marketing professional. She was a gifted and creative spirit who found joy in writing, especially poetry, as well as drawing, painting, and picture framing. She loved searching for hidden treasures at garage sales, estate sales, thrift stores, and consignment shops, and delighted in restoring antiques and giving them new life. She also enjoyed gardening and devoted considerable energy to restoring and decorating her beloved circa-1899 Historic Roswell home.
One of Suzanne's greatest gifts was her ability to connect with people. She never met a stranger and was known for her warm, outgoing personality. She cherished spending time with friends and neighbors, and the front porch of her home became a gathering place for impromptu visits, lively conversation, and laughter. Whether welcoming old friends or meeting someone new, Suzie had a gift for making people feel at home.
Suzanne was a longtime member of Miami Shores Baptist Church and later served as an Elder at Living Word Ministries, where she shared her faith and formed many lasting friendships.
She is survived by her children, Loryn Elizabeth Walker (Ralph), Robert Lee Holly, Jr. (Donna), and Catherine Holly Peek (Steve); her grandchildren, Michael Drury Peek (Teegan), Ashley Peek Green (Buck), and Emily Peek Hart (Patrick); several great-grandchildren; and her beloved cousin, Helen Drew Stephens (Laughton).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Lu "Sally" Barnes Peavy and Jack Peavy; her sister, Margaret Peavy Hitt; and her husbands, Warren Dicker, Robert Lee Holly, Sr., and Thomas Walbert.
Suzanne was laid to rest at Milton Fields on June 17, 2026, in a private family service.
Her family will remember Suzie's creative spirit, her love of beauty and restoration, and her remarkable ability to turn strangers into friends.
