Sylvia Louise Papini Baldow of Roswell, Ga passed peacefully on August 28, 2023, after a short illness.
Born September 18, 1938 in Augusta, Ga to Henry and Louise Papini, she was raised in Greenville, SC in a large loving Italian family. Sylvia graduated from Greenville High School and attended the University of Miami. Sylvia enjoyed entertaining and loved to host long family weekends filled with love and laughter. She is known for her faith, wisdom, and her devotion to her family and friends. No family activity was complete without her kind and nurturing care. An avid sports fan, Sylvia loved watching PGA tournaments, rooting for the Atlanta Braves and Falcons, and attending games at the Citadel, where her husband, son and grandson attended. Her family will remember their "Bamba" as a gracious hostess, great southern cook, and a forever fan of Elvis Presley.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Baldow, her siblings Pep Papini and his wife Donna, Vilma Sarracino and her husband Jerry, and Shirley Kerr and her husband Charlie. She is survived by her loving son, Tony Parker and his wife Eileen, her grandchildren Kimberly White and her husband Rico, Erin Parker and Joey Parker, her great grandchildren Parker and Keiley White, as well as her stepchildren Kathy, Billy, Marianna, and Mike, and her beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, Ga on September 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:15 and a reception will be held in the parish hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
