With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teresa Belle Staten, our beloved "Aunt Terri." She passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026 surrounded by her family. Her life was a beautiful testament to faith, compassion and selfless service. Though our hearts grieve her absence, we take comfort in knowing that she has entered into the presence of her savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served faithfully throughout her life.
Born in Birmingham, AL. on January 15, 1956 to Frank Samuel and Edna Earline Moss, she was the youngest of five children. She is preceded in heaven by all of her siblings, Patricia A. Porter, Michael W. Moss, Brenda S. Nixon, and Judith E. Mattingly.
Terri had many great accomplishments throughout her lifetime, but she possessed a rare gift for seeing the needs of others. Offering her time, strength and heart without hesitation. Whether caring for family, comforting a friend or extending kindness to a stranger, she lived a life marked by unwavering generosity and genuine love. Her compassion touched countless lives, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Her devotion to her family and friends knew no boundaries, whether near or far, each person held a special place in her heart. The center of her life was her many, many nieces and nephews, her "munchkins." Always making time for each of them. She celebrated life's joys alongside those she loved and stood faithfully beside them through life's hardships.
A devoted member of her church family, Terri's faith was not simply something she professed-it was the foundation upon which she built her life. She loved the Lord with all her heart and joyfully dedicated herself to serving "His" church. She faithfully led and supported numerous ministries, organized programs, and encouraged others in their walk with Christ. Her servant's heart and unwavering commitment left an immeasurable impact on those who worshipped alongside her.
Terri also held a deep and abiding respect for the men and women who served our nation. She devoted countless hours to supporting veterans, giving generously of her time and compassion to honor their sacrifices.
Those who knew Terri will remember her generous heart, her steadfast faith, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and love. She found purpose in lifting others up and she measured a life well lived not by what was gained but by what was given.
Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in Christ's promise of eternal life and the assurance that we will one day see her again.
Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
In 1981 Terri married the love of her life, Tommy Staten, who sadly passed away in 1982. Terri is survived by her loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends
