Thomas Steven Reif, 59, of Roswell, Georgia passed away on May 13th, 2017 after a long fight with cancer and a short illness.

Tom was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 3, 1958 and graduated from Milford High School in 1976. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in Public Affairs in 1980 and Northwestern Law School with his doctorate of jurisprudence in 1983. He practiced law, most recently with Waypoint Residential in Atlanta, until his death and was a beloved colleague and friend to all who worked with him. Tom met his wife, Ann, in 1987 and they were married a year, a month, and a day later. He was devoted to his family, and loved spending time with them wherever they happened to be. Tom was a talented musician, playing piano, organ, and the carillon, and he was a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America. Tom was a lifelong Christian whose faith informed every aspect of his life. He was an active member in the Presbyterian Church (USA), most recently at Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colorado, where he lived before moving to Georgia. He served the church and denomination faithfully and with distinction, serving on various committees and offering his talents as a lawyer and musician to both.

He is survived by his wife, Ann McDavid Reif, of Roswell; his daughters Betsy Reif Soto (Ed Soto) of Altavista, Virginia and Maggie Reif of Carrboro, North Carolina; son Donald Reif, of Roswell; sister Amy Reif, of Bloomington, Indiana; and parents Jack and JoAnn Reif of Milford, Ohio.

A memorial service is planned for a later date. In place of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Wellshire Presbyterian Church of Denver, Colorado or to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
