Virlyn James Anderson age 81 of Canton passed away on February 2, 2023. Virlyn was born on December 16, 1941 to Elmer and Audrey (Bates) Anderson in Alpharetta. He worked for many years at General Motors until his retirement. Virlyn was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Emma Anderson. He is survived by his wife Nancy Anderson of Canton; children, Glenn and Sherry Anderson of Cumming, Cheryl (Anderson) Johnson of Roswell, Mark and Christy (Anderson) Black of Marietta, Gary and Denise Anderson of Amherst, VA., Casey (Anderson) Butcher of Ballground and Carla (Anderson) Fields of Canton; grandchildren, Matthew Anderson, Nathaniel Anderson both of Nashville, TN, Drew and Jessica Johnson of Chattanooga, TN., Allison (Black) Burruss and Ryan Burruss of Charleston, SC, Christopher and Megan Black of Statesboro, GA, Bethany Anderson, Zachary and Casey Anderson, Seth and Meshyrie, Carlin and Rebekah (Anderson) Beachy, Abigail Anderson all of VA, Cassidy Butcher, Sidney Roan, Noah Fields, and Lily Fields all of GA; great- grandchildren, Elijah Anderson, Jase Anderson, Aevah Anderson and Liam Beachy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 1PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5 from 2PM to 6PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors.
