Ms. Theresa "Tere" Marie Hardin

Mrs. Theresa “Tere” Hardin, age 71, of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. Tere was born on October 27th, 1951 in Santa Ana, California to Hurley and Mildred “Millly” Dennis. Soon after her birth, her family moved to Marietta, Georgia where she grew up and attended Wheeler High School. In November of 1975, Tere met the love of her life, Joe Hardin. From the moment they met they knew that they were made for each other. Joe proposed to Tere on their second date and they were married six weeks later. They made their loving home in Alpharetta, Georgia where they raised their only son, John Hardin. Tere had many passions including herb gardening, miniature collecting, and listening to good Rock n’ Roll! She was an avid lover of blasting Pink Floyd in her Baby Blue 82’ Corvette and once blew the speakers out of the family Oldsmobile while listening to Mother’s Finest’s “Baby Love.” When her son, John, joined the Cub Scouts, she and her husband, Joe, signed on to be leaders in the pack and went on to be scoutmasters of Troop 429 and Venture Crew 83. As a scout leader, Tere was known as THE Scout Mom and cared for all of the boys as they were her very own. She camped with them in the cold and the rain, making sure every cut was bandaged, every stomach fed, and every tent spider taken care of with her handy can of Lysol. Her loving and nurturing nature helped shape her scouts into the men they are today. Tere was also a member of Alpharetta Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron many times. Last year, Tere was appointed as the White Bird of Loyalty by the Grand Family of Georgia. During her time with OES, she will be remembered as a kind voice that was always willing to serve. She loved her sisters in the Eastern Star with her whole heart. Along with her parents, Tere is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gardener Hardin and her brother, Lowell Dennis. She is survived by her son, John Hardin, daughter in law, Shelby Hardin of Decatur, Georgia, along with so many beautiful friends and family. The visitation for Tere Hardin will take place at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 14th at the Northside Chapel at 12050 Crabapple Rd. Roswell, Georgia. The service to honor the life of Tere will be 2:00 PM in following the visitation. There will be a celebration of Tere’s love at the residence of John and Shelby Hardin following the services. Margaritas will be served.
