Mrs. Alison Templeman Moyer

Alison Templeman Moyer, a native of Atlanta, passed away unexpectedly on Friday September 28, at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital. She was admitted late Tuesday night after a long bout with shingles pain and then an onset of cellulitis. She was in great spirits Wednesday, Thursday and even Friday. Around 3pm on Friday, after a visit with her doctor and her pastor, her heart simply stopped beating. Her loving husband, three children, their spouses and several grandchildren were by her side when she peacefully went on to glory. The family rejoices that she is no longer in pain and has entered eternal life through her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Alison Moyer was an incredible and unique individual who always had a smile on her face and when you left her presence, you would have a smile on your face too! When she walked into a room, it would light up. She was fun, witty and full of life! She was voted "most popular" in her high school yearbook and that held true throughout her entire life. She never met a stranger and was always interested to know everything about you. She graduated from North Fulton High School and married her high school sweetheart, Joe DeLany. Alison proved to be the best mother raising their three children and for over 60 years has gathered for lunch with her high school friends in various location throughout Atlanta. She also has a bridge club of friends who have met for over 40 years on a regular basis. She loved to travel with her friends and family to Hilton Head Island, Brooksville, Florida and Highlands, North Carolina. In 1987, Alison married Joe Moyer and they have been married for over 30 years. Alison and Joe were a match made in heaven. He is often called "St. Joe" by all of Alison's children because of the way he cared for and loved their mother. Alison and Joe reside in Alpharetta, Georgia and are members of the family of St. Aidans' Episcopal Church in Milton. They spent many years traveling, attending the grandkids sporting events, watching the Braves games together while enjoying life one day at a time. Alison is survived by her 4 children: Alison (Chuck), Joe III, Jim (Paige) and step son- Brian Moyer (Dawn); her brother Fred Templeman (Barbara) and her aunt Eleanor Alison She is survived by 16 grandchildren: Alana Galicia (Erick); Chad Lusted (Sheyla); CJ Lusted; Chris Lusted; Jake Delany, Dave DeLany, Diane DeLany, Jim DeLany and Joe DeLany IV; Michael Moyer, Robbie Moyer, Nicolas Moyer, Dylan Gibson, Taylor Burke, Kayla Boland and Zachery Moyer; and 4 great grandchildren: Ella Lusted, Aubrey Lusted, Abi Galicia and Eli Galicia. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews that mean the world to her as well as many friends that she considers family. Her family and her friends were the most important things to her in this life. A Celebration Service of Alison's life will be held on Tuesday, October 2 at 11am at St. Aidans' Episcopal Church located at 13560 Cogburn Road, Milton Ga 30004 followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
