Mrs. Angela Cilento Mastrangelo

Angela Cilento Mastrangelo of Alpharetta passed away at her home on November 6, 2022 at the age of 92. Born August 21, 1930 in Bronx, NY to Anthony and Theresa Cilento, Angela grew up alongside her sister Florence and brother Joseph and many cousins following the passing of her father in 1933. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Mastrangelo and brother, Joseph Cilento. Mrs. Mastrangelo is survived by her 5 children: Steven (Antoinette) Mastrangelo, New Orleans, LA, David (Kit) Mastrangelo, Alpharetta, GA, Mary Beth (Joe) Davis, Alpharetta, GA, Thomas (Karen) Mastrangelo, Cumming, GA, Therese Mastrangelo, Anchorage, AK; her daughter-in-law, Valerie Mastrangelo, Atlanta, GA; her sister, Florence D’Antonio, NJ; and sister-in-law, Gabriella Cilento, FL. Angela leaves an additional proud legacy of 11 grandchildren: Stephanie (Jay) Warren, Jeffrey (Katie) Mastrangelo, Carl Mastrangelo, Marc (Olivia) Mastrangelo, Eric Davis, Luke (Melissa) Mastrangelo, John Mastrangelo, Gina (Cade) Cleveland, Christina Mastrangelo, Joseph Mastrangelo and Anna Mastrangelo, as well as 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Angela was a loving wife to Arnold for 45 years until his passing in 1997. She met Arnold on a trip to Italy and after a long distance relationship, they married in Italy and moved to NY where they started their family. Together, they lived in New Jersey for a short while before moving to Roswell, GA in 1974. Angela spent her life instilling strong Catholic traditions and values in her children and their families. She was a woman who practiced what she preached and a faithful and active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church where she worked at the pre-school and served on the alter guild as well as a number of other church ministries. Strongly dedicated to the Blessed Mother, Angela was a member of the Legion of Mary where she served as president for a number of years. She loved unconditionally and had great patience and faith that all would work out with trust in the Lord. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. The Mastrangelo family will receive friends at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors on Friday, November 18 at 2-4PM and 6-8PM, with the rosary being recited at 7:45PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
