Mr. Dale Kevin Perleberg

Dale Kevin Perleberg (age 64) of Johns Creek, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Dale is survived by Stephanie, his wife of 30 years; his daughter, Carli Grace (Nathan) Nardi, son, Adam Hurst Perleberg, and granddaughter, Whitney Grace Nardi; and brothers Garl (Pam) Perleberg and Kurt (Mardi) Perleberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Gloria Perleberg, and his sister Karen Davenport. In addition, he had special relationships with his father-in-law, Willard Hurst, his wife’s sisters, Beth (Glenn) Blackwood and Leigh (Dan) Lyons, and his numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was born in Lansing, Michigan. He was a gifted athlete, playing football and baseball in his early years, and maintaining a focus on staying fit throughout his life. He enjoyed playing tennis with his friends and neighbors, and looked forward to his annual hunting. He pursued a career in the hospitality and culinary field, obtaining degrees in Hotel/Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts. He studied in Paris, France, where he completed his Cordon Bleu training. Through the years, he worked as an executive chef in hotels, restaurants, clubs, and hospital settings. Throughout his career, Dale had a unique way of caring for and guiding the people who worked with and for him. In the last years of his career, he was a culinary instructor at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Dale was a gifted teacher and mentor to many aspiring chefs. Dale was a special friend to many people in different aspects of his life. He was open, personable, and engaging. He brought laughter and joy to many. He made a point to embarrass his children regularly, but always expressed his strong desire to be the best father he could be. Dale was actively involved in the interests and activities of his children, sacrificing his time to be a coach and a vocal fan. He had a special relationship with his granddaughter, Whitney, who put a smile on his face when she called him “Ah-daddy.” It was clear to everyone how loving and devoted he was to all family and friends. Dale was an avid Michigan State fan, always supporting his Spartans with robust enthusiasm. Above all, he had a unique and close relationship with God, whom he talked to and relied upon for strength every day of his life. Visitation with the family will be held at Northside Chapel on Sunday, March 10th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a celebration of life service following at 4:00.
