Mr. John D'Amico

John D’Amico, 89, from Roswell, Georgia, left this life to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 27, 1928, to Theresa and Nicola D’Amico, the youngest of five children, and moved to Florida as a young child. He served in the United States Army and began his musical career there. He later moved to Miami in the 1950‘s and was a band leader, drummer and lead singer for the Johnny D’Amico Trio at the famous Desert Inn in Miami Beach. He raised three children in Miami and In 1976, he married the love of his life and soul mate, Catherine Bain, and later relocated to Georgia. John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a friend to all who met him. He was loving and kind, a gifted musician and could always make you laugh or smile. He leaves behind his wife, Catherine, his children Nick (Jennifer), Terry Almaguer (Robert), John Jr. (Vicki), Tom Bain (Rene), Ed Bain (Linda), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his sister Mary McCustian. He was predeceased by his parents, Theresa and Nicola, brothers Tony, Pete, sister Angelina, step-son John Bain and his grandson, Michael D’Amico, and is celebrating eternal life with them now! He was a beloved member of his community and known as everybody’s handyman, card shark and the pianist for all of his community’s sing alongs. Most of all, he was a family man. John found the most joy spending time with his family. Whether it was a trip to the beach or Sunday dinner, John just preferred everything to be a big family get together. John D’Amico loved the Lord with all of his heart and looked forward to his eternal life in Heaven.
