Mrs. Judith Anne Parnell

Judith Anne Pearce Parnell left this life on Saturday the 29th of April at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, GA. Judith was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Alpharetta. The church was always a cornerstone of her life. In her earlier years, she was active in WMU and their literacy program that taught adults to read. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the church choir. Judith had a beautiful voice and was often called upon as a soloist in her home church and other churches. She loved books and valued education. It was a dream come true for all three of her children to graduate from college and a miracle that one granddaughter became a doctor. Judith was gifted with good taste and a sense of style. She was described by friends as a true southern lady. She loved beautiful rooms and beautiful clothes. Nothing made her happier than a new pair of shoes. Most of all she loved the Lord her God with all her heart. Each day, even when she was so gravely ill, she started the day by quoting, “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Judith was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Wade Parnell, Sr. She is survived by a sister, Velma Jean Atwood, her husband Thomas "Butch" Atwood, a daughter, Adell Parnell Muench, her husband Michael Muench, a daughter, Kimberlee Parnell Kleisner, her husband Kim Kleisner, a son, Curtis Wade Parnell, Jr. and his wife Jackie Parnell, grandchildren, Dr. Samantha Atwood, Hunter Kleisner, Adam Kleisner, Madison Peterson, her husband Joel Peterson, Maggie, Milly, Mercy, Meredith, Miriam, Curtis Wade, Charles, Channing, Christian, Cyrus and Cash Parnell, and a great grandson Eugene. Services to celebrate Judith’s life will be held Wednesday, the 3rd of May at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Alpharetta, 44 Academy Street, Alpharetta, GA, 30004. A graveside service and internment will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, the 4th May at Forest Lawn Memory Garden, 315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, GA 31404. In lieu of flowers the family prefers those wishing may make a donation to The Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org/donate.php) or to the establishment of a chapel at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital (wellstar.org/give or call 770-956-GIVE).
